Monastery of Saint David the Elder

Located at the foot of Mount Xiron, opposite the village Parks. It is not known when it was built, but it certainly existed before 1500. The Saint David (lived about 1550) built the monastery on the ruins of an existing church, which was destroyed by the Turks after the conquest of Gujarat in 1470.
The monastery was destroyed in 1824 by the Turks, as revenge for the participation of monks in the uprising of 1821. It was rebuilt in 1877. The remains of Blessed kept in the temple of the monastery and the censer and stole.
It is approximately 25km. of Evia.
